The new trust and safety guidelines and how they are executed feel over engineered and unnecessarily punishment driven. As noted here, it demotivates mentors and likely mentees as well. Please consider rolling back these new features until they can be re-thought with a lot of mentor input.

I'd also like to add that the UI text in the dialogue when you click "no show" show sounds very guilt-trippy. When I read it, it makes me feel like I should feel guilty for marking someone as a no-show. This has led to me not marking people as no shows while I try to figure out what I should do. Especially with an all-or-nothing 24-hour time limit to make the decision.

Average attendance rate being displayed is something that is equal in measure, but completely different in effect. For mentees with little or no commitment, a mark on their attendance means nothing. For a mentor, is a hit on their pride and the lack of an appeals process feels uncaring and indifferent to this disparity.

Nicholas Busman: I also have to second the lack of appeals or unclear appeals process. For example, I can recall one event where last-minute reschedule happened via email about 5 minutes into the call due to an unforeseen event. At that point, a no-show had been flagged, with no recourse to appeal/rescind. It would have been nice to have at least a pending mark on attendance if mutually agreeable solution was not able to be reached/rescheduled.

Nicholas Busman: I just had this problem yesterday. I joined a call early as a mentee, on the ADPList platform even, and despite the video call platform settings showing I had full connection (and having no issue the previous day with a different call), I got marked as a no show. I sent an inquiry to support immediately, with a screenshot of me in the call and whatnot. But obviously I didn't take a screenshot before I got a no show email because, well, I wasn't expecting it to be a problem. Now I'm still working it out with support (hoping they actually track time in their video call platform) because the mentor won't respond to my message request, either.
